Then Charles Louis Tiffany along with John Young opened a small stationery store under the name “Tiffany, Young and Ellis” on the central shopping street of the New York City – Broadway. When the store things went up, young guys decided to sell jewelry under their own name. As time has shown, the founders discover that selling jewelry is much more successful than paper clips and pens.
Already in 1837 they began to manufacture branded packaging and promotional materials in the form of cards, brochures, boxes. In addition, for products was selected a special color – turquoise hue of the blue.

In 1853, Charles Tiffany repurchased a stake of his partner Yang and renames the store to “Tiffany & Co”. From that moment begins the disclosure of the “secret of success”. An important event for Tiffany & Co was meeting between Charles Tiffany and US President Abraham Lincoln, who has acquired a set of pearl jewelry from Tiffany & Co for his wife. Since that time Tiffany & Co products came into the life of the New York elite: businessmen, top officials, actors and singers.
It was Tiffany & Co, who supplied the army of northerners during the Civil War (1861-1865) with swords and created a variety of medical instruments. After the war, the company became involved in arms, decorated with precious stones, as well as in making exclusive jewelry models of daggers and swords for the governing officials of the US Army.
The company opened its own shops, design studios, invited professional craftsmen and diamond cutters. In staff has appeared a famous American silver manufacturer, Edward Moore.
